San Marcos, TX trash & recycling (starter guide)
TDS provides residential service. The City's Resource Recovery Division manages it (512-393-8412, recyclinginfo@sanmarcostx.gov) Official.
- Garbage (black lid): weekly on your route. Base cart is 65 gallons, or $5/month more for 96 gallons Official.
- Recycling (tan lid) and green waste (green lid): every other week, depending on your route. Extra recycling goes in up to 3 small boxes. Extra yard waste goes in up to 12 paper bags Official.
- Service hours: carts are serviced 6 a.m.–7 p.m. Bring carts in by 9 p.m. Keep them 3 ft apart with arrows pointing toward the street. TDS starts at 6 a.m. from June 1 to Sept 30 Official.
- Bulk: 4 pickups a year, up to 3 cubic yards each, on your garbage day in the 1st and 3rd full weeks of the month. Book by 3 p.m. two business days before, with an item list. Carpet must be in 4-ft strips under 35 lbs, max 4 rolls Official.
- Report service issues to Resource Recovery within 24 hours Official.
