Austin Resource Recovery customers can schedule up to 3 collections per calendar year for each service: bulk, brush, household hazardous waste, and clothing & textiles. You need an appointment. Bulk items accepted (partial list)

Appliances (doors removed), household carpet, doors, furniture, lawn mowers (gas/oil drained), nail-free lumber, pallets, passenger car tires (rims removed, limit 8), railroad ties (cut in half), rolled fencing.

Not accepted

Vehicle chassis and bodies, boats, brush (it has its own collection), cardboard boxes, construction carpet, hazardous materials, household trash, mirrors, motorcycles, sheet glass and remodeling debris, tile, tires still on rims, trailers.

Brush rules

• Pieces 5–15 ft long. Cut anything longer.
• One loose row, no more than 15 ft across and 4 ft high, cut ends facing the street.
• Trunks more than 8 in. across must be 3 ft long or shorter.
• Keep piles 5 ft from carts, mailboxes, fences or walls, meters, utility boxes, hydrants and cars, and out from under low limbs and power lines. Don't block the sidewalk or street.
• Brush isn't collected from alleys, vacant lots or in front of businesses.
